Local Spotlight: Griffin’s History Comes Alive

The biggest talk of the town this week has been the final preparations for the 2026 Taste of History, officially set for Saturday, April 18th. Presented by United Bank and hosted by the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce, this isn't just your standard walking tour. It is a "progressive taste and history tour" that effectively turns downtown Griffin into a living museum.

Last week, organizers dropped more details about the "famous legends" of Griffin’s past who will be making appearances. These reenactors will be stationed at various historical sites, sharing stories of the figures who built this community. For those who believe history is best served with a side of Southern comfort, the tour includes stops at some of our favorite local restaurants and venues. ¹ Tickets are already moving fast at $50 each, and if the chatter at last week's Chamber meeting is any indication, this will be a sell-out event that celebrates the soul of our city. ²
